With packaging now accounting for 40% of the plastics market, we are more than ever faced with the urgent challenge of recyclability and in the front line to rethink packaging: by reusing it, reducing its amount of plastics and making it recycling-ready.

Because are convinced that there can be no responsible packaging without a responsible company. Responsible packaging is safe for people and the planet. Our Product Safety Policy is supported by controls from raw material to final product and is embedded in our New Product Development process. Albéa has initiated the Cosmetic Packaging Taskforce with Elipso and Cosmetics Europe to define how to assess the safety of cosmetic packaging.

Responsible packaging has a minimal impact on resources, air, soil and water. Albéa has more than 15 years of experience in Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), with internal expertise and numerous tools. We conduct more than 100 LCA every year. Responsible packaging is circular and never becomes waste.

Albéa joined the Ellen Mac Arthur Foundation’s New Plastics Economy Global Commitment in October 2018, alongside L’Oréal, Unilever and many of our customers and competitors. This commits us to making 100% of our packaging recyclable, reusable or compostable and to using 10 % of recycled plastic by 2025.

But responsible packaging should also be desirable: That is why we are working on attractive packaging designs and elaborated decoration technologies. At this year’s LuxePack, we will introduce a wide selection of new responsible solutions made @Albéa.
