ENVOPAP ENTERS BENIN MARKET VIA EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTION DEAL WITH COMPTOIR ATLANTIQUE DE PAPETERIES
Deal continues envoPAP’s growth and paves the way for regional expansion
envoPAP, a producer of innovative environmentally friendly paper and packaging products, announces it has signed a partnership with Comptoir Atlantique de Papeteries SARL (“Comptoir”) for the exclusive distribution of envoPAP products in Benin.
The Benin market entry extends envoPAP’s growth and global footprint. The Company now sells its products in over 50 markets – in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The partnership has already commenced with envoPAP supplying its flagship A4 sustainable paper product, envoCOPY, in an initial order of 100 metric tons. This is equivalent to saving 5,000 trees from being cut down.
Comptoir has already provided very positive customer feedback, including from Government Ministries and Agencies, praising the product’s high quality. Comptoir is confident customer demand will grow rapidly over the next year and anticipates making further, larger orders, saving many thousands of trees from deforestation.
It is anticipated Comptoir will soon begin distributing envoPAP’s full range of packaging products – which are fully recyclable, biodegradable, compostable, marine-degradable and have a 28% lower carbon footprint than conventional products, according to an Intertek life-cycle analysis.
Benin’s wider sustainability agenda includes a total ban on the production, importation, distribution, possession and use of non-biodegradable bags – in an effort to end marine plastic pollution. envoPAP will contribute sustainable packaging products and help fulfil UN SDGs.
Comptoir and envoPAP plan to leverage their partnership to enter neighbouring markets including Nigeria and Niger. Niger, in particular, suffers from desertification due to deforestation. envoPAP and Comptoir hope envoPAP’s products – which are made from agricultural waste not wood – will make a positive difference there.
The deal shows envoPAP’s resilience during the pandemic and follows other positive recent news. This includes successfully achieving ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, being named in the inaugural Sunday Times ‘BGF 10 Green Tech to Watch’ list and CEO, Kaushal Shah, being named in the TechRound ‘BAME 50 under 50 Entrepreneurs’ list.
Kaushal Shah, Founder and CEO of envoPAP said:
“We are delighted to find a great partner in Comptoir Atlantique de Paperteries. They grasped envoPAP’s competitive differentiators immediately and how our products improve both the planet and bottom lines. We look forward to expanding our partnership beyond Benin, into neighbouring countries – using on-the-ground market knowledge.”
Johnny Lallis, Partner and CEO, Comptoir Atlantique de Papeteries SARL said:
“We are extremely pleased to be the exclusive distributor of envoPAP products in Benin. When you can pay the same price for even better, higher quality, eco-friendly products than are available elsewhere in the market – it is an easy decision to buy, and supply, envoPAP products.
“With great initial feedback from our first set of customers, we look forward to expanding and including envoPAP’s full range of eco-friendly packaging products.”
