IFE Manufacturing unveils programme of industry-leading speakers for 2022

The event, launching on 21-23 March 2022 at ExCeL, is a comprehensive showcase of the end-to-end supply chain for food and drink production and manufacturing. Over 150 innovative suppliers are equipped to provide visitors with everything needed to elevate their products and grow their businesses.

The show’s Innovation Platform will be hosting an unmissable programme of content featuring speakers at the very forefront of innovation in food and drink production, packaging and manufacturing.

Day One of the show, 21 March, will see Will Cowling, Marketing Manager at FMCG Gurus, discussing some of the major trends set to impact on food & drink packaging in 2022 and beyond.

Cowling commented: “Consumer attitudes towards packaging have become more complex and considered over the last eighteen months, as the role of packaging within the food and drink industry has been re-evaluated.

“Indeed, concerns about the impact that packaging has on the environment remain strong, however, at the same time, a greater emphasis on product safety along the supply chain means that more favourable perceptions towards packaging are occurring – something that is directly influencing purchasing.”

Later the same day Sanjay Patel of The Packaging Collective will be joined by Andy Sweetman of Futamura and Hugh Lewis of Gousto to discuss innovations in sustainable packing and some of the major challenges which still need to be overcome in food & drink sustainability.

Day Two will see Gary Tee, Regional Sales Director at TIPA Compostable Packaging, discusses the latest developments in the rapidly growing composting packaging sector. Not only are these packaging types minimising food waste, they can also mimic conventional plastic.

On Day Three, 23 March, Jon Stevens and Chris Isted of Threesixty Brand and Packaging Design will be taking to the stage to discuss the power of strong branding and what helps food and drink packaging to stand out from the crowd on busy supermarket shelves.

Jon Stevens, Managing Director, Threesixty Brand and Packaging Design: “With retailers continuing to squeeze ranges, it’s never been more important to ensure your brand is fit to compete and maintain listings. Threesixty’s process delivers stand out versus the category best, creates consumer desire and helps your shopper quickly understand your proposition. The critical ingredients for CPG success. At this year’s show, hear Threesixty talk about their design mantra: Be Seen, Be Desired, Be Understood.”
