Selig showcases venting, sealing and flexible packaging at FachPack 2021

Selig, the global leader in sealing solutions is returning to FachPack 2021 and will be showcasing its latest vented, induction heat sealing and flexible packaging solutions.
Following the purchase of Performance Systematix (PSI) in January, this is the first opportunity to showcase the partner company’s leading range of container and packaging venting solutions in Europe. Alongside this, Selig will also be demonstrating the potential of Selig Flexibles’ new 84% recyclable flexible plastic packaging and Selig’s award-winning GlassFuze™ sealing technology – that provides a fully hermetic seal to glass.
Vented container and packaging solutions
On stand will be a range of PSI’s package venting solutions, including flagship products such as Circumvent® and AirFoil®. Circumvent® forms a leak-free seal that lets air flow in both directions to prevent packages swelling and collapsing and it can be used with either a hole-in-cap design or as a grooved material. With broad chemical compatibility and a high liquid intrusion rating it is a versatile and popular venting solution. Like Circumvent®, AirFoil® lets containers breathe without allowing liquids to leak, however it also offers tamper-evidence and creates a double seal.
Selig recyclable flexible packaging
Consumer demand for recyclable flexible packaging is at an all time high and Selig Flexibles will be using FachPack to showcase its latest offerings in this area. The company’s 84% recyclable flexible plastic packaging solution is being trialled in companies across Europe at present and has recently been approved for use by a German baby food manufacturer seeking to improve its sustainability credentials. Selig Flexibles also has testing underway to achieve even greater recyclability for its films.
Selig’s GlassFuze
With the introduction of GlassFuze™, a fully hermetic seal can now be achieved on glass containers containing liquid, oily and fatty products. As well as being able to withstand substances which have the ability to penetrate and degrade conventional sealing methods, this pioneering technology also creates a barrier to oxygen and moisture, increasing product shelf-life still further. GlassFuze opens up a world of opportunities for manufacturers who would choose glass over plastic, but up until now, couldn’t find an impervious and cost-effective solution. Alongside GlassFuze™, visitors to the Selig stand will also be able to view other sealing solutions such as Selig’s renowned Lift ‘n’ Peel™ and Uni-Gard™.
